Local 149 Doubles their Donation!

This post is very late in coming, but the acknowledgement is just the same. As we mentioned prior, Local 149 held a Tiki Party raising funds for the Veterans for Foreign Wars Post 6536 & Scavenger in Southie! In total, $295 was raised through Local’s raffle at the R. St Barth launch. The restaurant’s parent company, The Neighborhood Restaurant Group, matched the raffle pot and added $5 for good measure.

Local 149 Director of Operations Sam Bonanno surprised Victoria from Scavenger in Southie with a check with the doubled donation! Let’s hear it for our Veterans!!

We want to give a HUGE thanks to Local 149 & Sam Bonanno for their support of the South Boston community!

What do People Say About Southie? We Asked, and They Said…

As you all know, I haven’t lived in Southie for very long. I do like talking to people about what they love about this place though, so I asked a few of my friends to walk down Day Blvd one day and ask people what they thought about the little place that used to be “Dorchester Neck.”

And what did they say? Check it out! You might recognize a few of your neighbors…
