South Boston Scavenger Hunt – 2 Days Left!

The South Boston Scavenger Hunt is here. Finally. You have stretched your muscles looking for little orange men throughout Southie. You have worked on your game plans laboring through the WODs. You know your playbook backwards and forwards after using twitterfacebookflickr,pinterestyoutube, and foursquare to keep up with the Scavenger in Southie gang. After weeks of grueling preparation you can see the light at the end of the tunnel and you’ve seen the prize list. This is your chance to suit up and play in the big one on Labor Day Weekend 2012. It is game day. Time to Scavenger for real.

This is not just about getting one question right a day. This is about getting as many clues as possible in three hours. This is the Superbowl of Scavengers. This is where the true clue competitors, geographical geniuses, and detail detectives are discovered. So make sure you fill up on all of your omega-threes, your almonds and and acai berries. Go round up your friends from MENSA and your Phi Beta Kappa buddies, and especially those who grew up on L St. And get ready to get it on.

We will see you on Saturday, September 1st at VFW Post 6536 at 7 Ellery Street.

  • Registration starts at 9:30AM with a 10:30AM kickoff for the Adult Scavengers (15 years and older)
  • and at 10:30AM with a 11:30AM kickoff for Families (with children 14 years and younger).
  • You aren’t registered yet, but can register now online or at the event.
  • Both Family & Adult Routes will end at 1:30PM and Awards will be presented at 2:30PM.
  • There will be hotdogs at the Awards Presentation or you can buy food along the route.

  • Tennis shoes

With summer winding down and only ONE WEEK until the scavenger hunt on September 1st, we decided to do one more launch of the game #findmeinsouthie. So we woke up early on Saturday to play Santa and leave little orange men for you to find all over South Boston. There are about 250 this time, so if you keep an eye out you’re sure to find one.

  1. Bostonians traveled the city in an Urban Bike Scavenger Hunt on Wheels – watch this guy do cartwheels in the middle of downtown!
  2. Where’s Waldo? – To celebrate the timeless book’s 25th Anniversary, booksellers are placing Waldo’s all around their towns. Return Waldo to the store for goodies! This is happening in all 50 states, so go find Waldo!
